Lets know how do you make uncooked strawberry jam. No cooking, no canning and very little mess. Jam doesn’t get any easier than this just mashed fruit and sugar perked up with lemon juice.
The color is beautiful and the flavor fresh and sweet, making it a good foil for some of the rich, fine-textured breads, such as oatmeal-raisin holiday fruit or sour cream-raisin.
Although the yield is quite small, the jam takes only minutes t make, and you can alter the recipe with other berries, or by adding chopped nuts or grated lemon or orange zest.
Ingredient of uncooked strawberry jam
- 2 baskets strawberries (1 ½ ob/750 go total weight), stemmed
- ½ – ½ cup (3-4 oz/90-125 g) sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
Place the berries in a bowl and mash them to a pulp. Add the sugar and lemon juice to taste (fruit that is very ripe and flavorful will need the smaller amounts of sugar and lemon juice). Let sit for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Makes about 2 cups (22 oz/680 g)
