Bubble and CCD devices are less affected by extreme environments (heat, cold, humidity, etc.) require less maintenance, and are much faster.
Of the two, bubble memory is more desirable because of this greater storage capacity and nonvolatility. CCDs are volatile but are faster than magnetic bubble devices.
