Intrapreneurship Definition by Various Authors

The term entrepreneurship refers to entrepreneurial activities that receive organizational sanction and resource commitments for the purpose of innovative results. The major thrust of intaprenering is to develop the entrepreneurial spirit within organizational boundaries, thus allowing an atmosphere of innovation to prosper. Some intrapreneurship definition is mentioned below:

Any individual employed in large organizations known as corporations who by his own choice makes new products/ services, and or develops newer methods of producing the same.

According to Skinner S J & Ivancevich J M: (1) An entrepreneurial person employed by a corporation and encouraged to be innovative and creative”. (2) “a person with entrepreneurial characteristics who is employed within a large corporation.” (3) “are usually found in enterprises that encourage experimentation, tolerate failure, recognize success and share the wealth”.

Dictionary of Social Sciejpes said, “an official of a corporation might qualify as an entrepreneur if he exercises leadership & control and if its stockholders are inactive in the corporate management”.
